Nagging
Quarrelsome nagging is a form of torture. It hinders communication. It is not effective for correcting behaviors of others. But we keep doing it because we think we're not getting through to the other person. And we're right about that! When tempted to engage in nagging (which is always destructive), we should stop and examine our motives. Are you more concerned about getting your way - or being right? Are you most concerned about the welfare of the person whom you're nagging? If you are truly concerned about that other person - you will seek more effective ways to get through to them.
